FALKEN to enter the 2017 24h-Race 2017 at Nürburgring

FALKEN will continue its commitment as one of the main sponsors of this year's ADAC Zurich 24h-Race at Nürburgring. The tyre company has partnered the event since 1999 and steadily expanded its involvement both on and next to the racetrack during that time. This year FALKEN will add an element of in-house competition to the race, entering two cars for the first time; a BMW M6 GT3 will make its debut alongside the almost legendary FALKEN Porsche 911 (991) GT3 R. In fact, this will be the first time that a team fields two modern GT vehicles of different marques. The two iconic sports cars will be fitted with practically identical tyres to underline the wide-ranging performance of the company's products. The front axle of the PORSCHE is fitted with FALKEN tyres in the dimension of 300/660-18 and the rear axle with the dimension of 330/710-18. The BMW is fitted with the same dimension of the front axle and rear axle with 330/710-18. The BMW will be driven by FALKEN's regular drivers, Peter Dumbreck and Alexandre Imperatori, with support from works drivers Marco Seefried and Stef Dusseldorp. The Porsche will be in the hands of FALKEN driver Martin Ragginger and Porsche works drivers Jörg Bergmeister, Dirk Werner and Laurens Vanthoor, all battling to reach first place. The duel between the FALKEN Porsche and FALKEN BMW forms the focus of the company's cross-media campaign entitled "Masters of Excitement"; FALKEN will make the most of its role as sponsor to boost its brand communication. The FALKEN fan community's interest in the 24-hour endurance race at Nürburgring has been whipped up since April; in a four-round competition, the FALKEN BMW driver Peter Dumbreck and FALKEN Porsche driver Martin Ragginger are facing off in a host of unusual challenges that test their endurance, concentration, technique and driving skills. The fun duels can be followed at https://www.facebook.com/falken In digital media, FALKEN's microsite and social media channels will report on the 'real' duel taking place in the 'Green Hell', as the legendary Nurbürgring circuit is reverently known. During the race several camera teams will deliver continuous footage, including live streams from the cars themselves, at https://www.24hlive.falkentyre.com and on FALKEN's Facebook page. A documentary about the race will be presented in the FALKEN smartphone app , which has been specially advanced for the purpose, to allow viewers to experience the thrills of the race at any time. FALKEN's trade show stand on the ring°boulevard will offer further activities and features underpinning the brand, such as a display of a wire-frame model of the FALKEN Porsche, a merchandise shop, the FALKEN Vital Reality Experience and the high-end FALKEN AZENIS FK510, winner of numerous press accolades. The varied programme also includes shows by the FALKEN Drift Teams – including the Red Bull Drift Brothers – on the track itself and in the historic drivers' paddock.
