The FALKEN AZENIS FK510 has been ranked first in the 2018 summer tyre tests carried out by German motoring magazine ACE Lenkrad in collaboration with the German Technical Inspection Association (GTÜ) and its Austrian partner organisation, ARBÖ. Falken's top-end tyre delivered the fastest time around the dry handling course, wet braking distance of less than 41 metres, extremely low drive-by noise and low rolling resistance to take the top spot. A total of eleven tyres in size 235/45 ZR18 were put through their paces in the tests, mounted on a VW Passat as the test vehicle. The overall ranking added up the points gained by the tyres for handling safety in wet and dry conditions, environmental considerations and economy, and price. In the “Environment/Economy" test category, the outstanding technical characteristics of the FALKEN AZENIS FK510 brought in 137 points out of a possible 170 to scoop the top place. In addition, the tyre was awarded the second highest score (66 out of a possible 80 points) in the category of “Safety, Wet". As well as turning in one of the shortest braking distances in the test, the AZENIS FK510 also convinced the test drivers with its superior cornering force and aquaplaning safety through standing water. And the tyre's excellent performance was not confined to wet conditions; the results of the handling tests in the dry also won over the test drivers, who reported that the AZENIS FK510 “was the fastest at completing the dry handling course, consisting of a slalom and a combination of fast and slower cornering". At the fourth lowest price in the tests, the FALKEN AZENIS FK510 is proof that consumers choosing medium-priced tyres need not expect to compromise on performance and safety. “We're extremely proud of this test result", says Markus Bögner Managing Director and COO at Falken Tyre Europe GmbH. “It's quite clear that the AZENIS FK510 can convince both our own satisfied customers and independent testers, who have repeatedly praised the tyre and heaped it with quality marks since it was first launched on the market."
