Falken gets top-ten ratings in the AUTO BILD brand survey

Falken has secured eighth place in the ‘Sport Tyres’ and ‘Price-to-performance ratio’ categories of a recent survey conducted by AUTO BILD, published in Issue 13, on 28 March 2019. Almost 70,000 readers of AUTO BILD magazine were asked to rate automotive suppliers on their perceived brand image.

Of the readers surveyed, 15 per cent (14.74%, approx. 10,318 respondents) stated that they associate Falken Tyres with a sporty image. This result is not surprising, as the tyre brand has been competing in motorsport events at the notoriously demanding Nürburgring for 20 years. Falken’s team has clinched numerous podium finishes and top-ten places in recent years, including third place at the Nürburgring 24 Hours in 2015, one of the toughest races in the world. 2018 was the team’s most successful season, with two overall victories and seven podium finishes in the VLN Endurance Championship.

The races are also used to carry out tyre tests, the results of which are used in the tyre development process. One of Falken’s best selling tyres is the ultra-high-performance AZENIS FK510 that has benefited from this testing and is approved for speeds up to 300km/h. Since 2016, the Falken AZENIS FK510 has enthused sporty motorists and gained praise and accolades in numerous independent tyre tests. The most recent was the AUTO BILD summer tyre test, in which the AZENIS FK510 took third place and was rated as ‘Exemplary’.

Meanwhile, almost 20 per cent of AUTO BILD readers (18.74%, approx. 13,118 readers) are convinced that quality doesn't have to be expensive and associated Falken with a positive price-to-performance ratio. This has been corroborated by independent tests by Gesellschaft für Technische Überwachung and Auto Club Europa. As part of the 2018 summer tyre tests they put the Falken AZENIS FK510 through its paces, with it coming out the test winner and also delivering a very good price-to-performance ratio. With a price of 554 Euros, the Falken tyre was within the price range for a set of 362 and 774 Euros and was scored positively for high quality and a fair price.

Snow at the Nürburgring- Race stopped

The second race of the VLN Endurance Championship 2019 – the 44th DMV 4h Race – will go down in history. During the second lap, the originally planned four-hour race was prematurely stopped due to the onset of snowfall and was not restarted. The BMW M6 GT3’s excellent performance thus went un-rewarded at temperatures around freezing point. During qualifying, Peter Dumbreck and Jens Klingmann put enormous pressure on their competitors, their 8:01.461 lap time securing them a first-row starting position.
