2,500 Euro donation from Falken to “Von Herzen zu Herzen”

Falken was able to hand over a cheque amounting to €2,500 to the Offenbach action group “Von Herzen zu Herzen gemeinnützige GmbH”. Dirk Luenzer, Managing Director and Founder of the group received the symbolic cheque on Wednesday. “Von Herzen zu Herzen” has been an umbrella for various social projects since 2008. It supports both local initiatives – such as music projects in Offenbach schools and “The Table” – and international projects in Asia and Africa.

The donation was made possible by a tombola at the Falken summer party, which took place in July in the neighbouring city of Frankfurt. Among other things, various promotional gifts, accumulated throughout the course of the year, were raffled away among the guests. Ticket sales and individual cash donations yielded €500, while Falken management added €2,000.

"We are very happy about the exemplary social commitment of Falken Tyre and are extremely grateful for the generous donation which goes 100% to our projects" says Dirk Luenzer, Managing Director, from Von Herzen zu Herzen gGmbH.

Commenting on the donation, Markus Bögner, COO and President of Falken Tyre Europe said: “In ‘von Herzen zu Herzen’ we’re supporting a local initiative which is dedicated to social projects and has local roots. As an Offenbach company we wanted to commit to a local initiative. We benefit greatly from this place, and so we wanted to select a social institution to give something to.”

Artificial intelligence set to improve tyre durability and performance with "Tyre Leap AI Analysis"

Falken’s parent company, Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd (SRI), has developed new technology that utilises artificial intelligence (AI) to predict the properties of rubber and detects how structural changes, due to load and wear, will affect performance throughout a tyre’s lifecycle. The data collected through “Tyre Leap AI Analysis” will support engineers to create longer lasting tyres with more consistent performance over time and is a key element of SRI’s “SMART TYRE CONCEPT”.
