Falken will once again be involved in top-level football in Europe for the 2019-2020 season and is on the books at eighteen clubs in Germany, England, France, Italy, Poland, Spain and, for the first time, Belgium.
The tyre brand has been the “official global tyre partner” of current European champions Liverpool FC since 2017 and is continuing the partnership it agreed with the top Spanish side Atlético Madrid last year. As of the 2019-2020 season, Falken is the “official tyre partner” of Borussia Mönchengladbach, a football club based in North Rhine-Westphalia that finished fifth in the German Bundesliga last season. Thus, the tyre brand has secured a high level of presence in stadia in its core markets of Germany, England and Spain through a variety of measures in various channels. This includes, for example, placing its logo on press walls and interview and flash boards.
The individual sponsorship packages mainly consist of LED banner advertising and static banners, with which Falken is securing a TV presence at more than 350 games in each of the elite national leagues in all its core European markets. Business seats will also be used for mobilising regional distributors.
“Football is an excellent match for our company because it combines performance and passion – our brand’s core values. We’ve been involved in the top level of European football since 2014 and have particularly benefited from the high media presence and the accompanying media coverage,” said Markus Bögner, Managing Director, COO and President of Falken Tyre Europe, commenting on the deal.
Eike Gyllensvärd, Senior Vice President Sales at Lagardère Sports, added: “We’re delighted to have already given advice to Falken Tyre Europe when they entered the market. Since then, we’ve worked together to actively develop the club and rights portfolio of Falken Tyre Europe and have adjusted the marketing goals accordingly. Our holistic approach secures our customers a unique TV presence in all core European markets and thus maximum attention.”
Overall, Falken is present at the following European clubs:
Belgium: RSC Anderlecht, KRC Genk
