FALKEN will begin 2018 in the 20th motorsports season on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, and will be once again fighting for overall victory with two of its own vehicles. With a slightly different array of drivers, the VLN - Europe's most successful endurance championship - and the famous ADAC 24h Race in Zurich are on the agenda. What's more, the Tyre Trade Center at the Nürburgring is taking over all tyre logistics and will be helping FALKEN to fit out further customer teams with racing tyres. “2017 was the most successful motorsports season for FALKEN yet. Our victory at the fourth VLN race, as well as the achievement of other podium positions, are the result of strong team performance and the continuous development carried out by our engineers. We are 100% able to compete with BMW as well as Porsche and, as a result, are also going to be deploying both vehicles in this season once more," said Markus Bögner, COO at Falken Tyre Europe GmbH, about the beginning of the racing season. You can count on the Porsche 911 GT3 being present, various models of which have been put into action since 2011. In the 991's current stage of development, the Zuffenhausen-made vehicle has a 4.0l flat-six engine which provides 368kW (500hp) of power. FALKEN tyres with dimensions 300/660R18 on the front axle and 330/710R18 on the rear axle ensure maximum traction. At the wheel, FALKEN factory drivers Martin Ragginger (A) and Klaus Bachler (A) will be taking turns with Porsche factory drivers Dirk Werner (D) and Sven Müller (D).

New entry, Müller, has been practising motorsports since 2004, and is champion of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany 2016.

As in the previous year, the BMW M6 GT3 will be driven by FALKEN drivers Peter Dumbreck (GB) and Alexandre Imperatori (CH), supported by Stef Dusseldorp (NL) and Jens Klingmann (D). Klingmann has a great deal of experience and already drove for BMW in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship, as well as in the ADAC GT Masters. The fireball from Munich is powered by a 4.4l V8 twin-turbo engine with up to 430kW (585hp, depending on classification). The tyre dimensions here are: 330/710R18. Both vehicles will appear, as usual, in our beloved 'teal and blue design'. FALKEN expands its customer offer In addition to the FALKEN team, additional customer vehicles were fitted out with racing tyres. “Supplying our customer team with FALKEN tyres is an important part of continuing to strengthen our presence at the VLN and at the ADAC 24h Race," emphasised Markus Bögner. “We have the ideal partners for this on our side in the form of the dedicated employees at the Tyre Trade Center." The Tyre Trade Center is located within close proximity of the Nürburgring in Meuspath, and offers all services surrounding the 'black gold'. The TTC team will be represented in the paddock at all VLN races, the 24h Qualification Race, and the ADAC 24h Race to carry out the sales and fitting of tyres. The dimensions we provide range from 240/660R18 to 330/710R18, and are available as slick tyres or as wet tyres in various combinations.
