Falken esports team set to join the grid for virtual 24H series
Alongside our successful real-world motorsport efforts in the 2023 NLS championship, the Falken racing programme is about to step up a gear following our acceptance into the 2023/24 24H SERIES ESPORTS championship.
Our sim racers Jan Ternjak, Jesse Jones, Jonas Rütten, Jonas Wanner, Michael Rächl and Tim Jarschel participated in ‘pre-qualifying’ session for the championship around the virtual MotorLand Aragón Grand Prix circuit – finishing in fourth overall.
As a result, the official Falken’s Esports team is now cleared to field a GT3 car in the six-round online racing series, which gets underway with the virtual Spa Francorchamps on 1st October.
Get yourselves comfortable, because the opening five races – which include rounds at Sebring, Silverstone, Monza, and Nürburgring – each last six hours, before the series draws to a close with an epic 12-hour battle around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on 7th April 2024.
“Falken is a brand that’s synonymous with motorsport and as online racing continues its meteoric rise, we want to remain relevant within the virtual paddocks,” explains Dennis Wilstermann, assistant manager marketing at Falken Tyre Europe GmbH. “We followed last season’s racing with interest and we’re looking forward to getting in and amongst the action this year.”
Our Esports programme is driven forwards through our partnership with Dörr Esports – which manage the official Falken Esports team on our behalf. And, alongside the Falken GT3 entry, Dörr Esports also successfully qualified for the 24H SERIES ESPORTS championship with a Dörr-entered GT3, and a Dörr Academy car in GT4. Congratulations all round!
“Building Falken’s reputation as a leading motorsport brand is a core part of our partnership,” explains Christian Baur, team manager Dörr Esports. “We want to reach and engage with new audiences throughout the passionate sim racing community, which is why the 24H SERIES ESPORTS championship is the perfect and logical next step for our campaign.”
“We’re delighted to have the Falken Esports team joining the 24H SERIES ESPORTS championship this season,” concludes Casper de Kort, Esports coordinator at Creventic. “The iconic teal and blue livery is known throughout real-world motorsport paddocks – and is slowly building a name within the online arena too. We’re looking forward to seeing what the team can do, alongside the Dörr-entered GT3 and Dörr Academy car GT4 cars.”
