A well-rounded offer: Falken and Point-S equip the German Red Cross (DRK) with tyres
Falken equips all of Hochtaunus DRK’s emergency vehicles
The season start of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) was a very special one. After an eight-month break, the engines finally roared again. Surprisingly in the grid: The Falken Porsche 911 GT3 R with Christian Engelhart and Dennis Olsen, who crossed the finish line in eighth place.
The 51st Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy today was the first motorsport event in Germany after the Corona-Lockdown. Impressive 139 teams entered the first race in the "Green Hell", including Falken´s Porsche.
The original schedule was to start at the 2nd round of the NLS, but Falken changed the plan. "Our drivers provided us great feedback during the last tests, which benefits our tyre development programme. However, the additional race is a good opportunity to get more tracktime on the Nordschleife," explained Stefanie Olbertz of Falken Motorsports.
At qualifying, Falken debutants Christian Engelhart and Dennis Olsen set a personal fastest lap of 8:06.708 minutes and put the #3 Porsche 911 GT3 R on the 15th position.
The German Engelhart started the 4h race and drove the #3 into the Top 10 after a faultless double stint. He handed over the wheel after 15 laps to the Norwegian Dennis Olsen, who drove the fastest lap in a Porsche with a time of 8:09.562 minutes. Finally he crossed the finish line in a good eighth place.
Also for the numerous Falken-friends the NLS-opening was a great day. Due to the still valid contact restrictions the fans could not visit the race live at the track. Instead they could follow the livestream onboard footage for the duration of the whole race.
This service will also be offered in 14 days, when NLS will attract attention with a double header for the first time - the "60th ADAC Reinoldus-Langstreckenrennen" on July 11th and the "52nd ADAC Barbarossapreis" on July 12th. Then two Falken Porsche 911 GT3 R cars will be used for the first time.
