Falken ZIEX ZE310 ECORUN convinces in the ADAC summer tyre test

The Falken ZIEX ZE310 ECORUN was recently rated very positively in an exceptionally large-scale, independent test by the General German Automobile Club (ADAC): the results of the ADAC summer tyre test once again provide confirmation of the excellent work of the engineers and developers at Falken.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its first in-house tyre test, the ADAC not only put a huge field of 50 different products to the test on dry and wet surfaces in terms of their braking performance, it also had a detailed look at them as a whole. The 205/55 R 16 V measurement category was assessed, in which the Falken ZIEX ZE310 ECORUN was only beaten by three other candidates in the overall rating.

Among other reasons, the Falken ZIEX ZE 310 ECORUN achieved this excellent result due to the top marks it was awarded for its performance on dry roads and driving comfort. Another highlight was the assessment of the driving performance in the traction limit: another area in which none of the 49 other candidates performed as well as the Falken tyres. And thanks to its convincing performance in terms of braking distance, aquaplaning and handling, the Falken ZIEX ZE 310 ECORUN also performed excellently on wet surfaces. The ADAC described the product as “balanced” along with only three other tyres, with three also described as “very balanced”. Balance has always played a key role in the ADAC tyre test: It was clear in the first ADAC tyre test 50 years ago that it was one of the determining factors of the tyre characteristics for achieving a good rating.

The test published this year also contains something new, however: the environmental balance of the tyre now accounts for 30 percent of the final result. As a manufacturer which makes its products outside Europe, Falken unfortunately has disadvantages when it comes to the sub-criterion of “sustainability”, although it does not stand out negatively in terms of mileage, abrasion performance, inside and outside noise, weight or fuel consumption. The Falken ZIEX ZE310 ECORUN remains an excellent tyre for sporty drivers who do not want to forego comfort.
