Falken Motorsports celebrates dominant double victory in the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series

Falken Motorsports left its competitors no chance of overall victory at the highlight of the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series season, the KW 6h ADAC Ruhr Cup race: The Japanese tire brand secured a commanding double victory and its third win of the season in an exciting race that had to be significantly shortened due to fog in the morning. Klaus Bachler and Sven Müller won in the teal-and-blue Porsche 911 GT3 R ahead of their teammates Nico Menzel and Dennis Marschall.

After the disappointing double retirement at the 24-hour race eight weeks ago, when both Falken Porsches failed to finish, the KW 6h ADAC Ruhr Cup race provided some well-deserved redemption – even if delayed: The thick fog that had settled over the Grand Prix circuit throughout the morning delayed the start of qualifying by around three and a half hours. The race distance was then shortened from six to four and a half hours.

In the similarly shortened qualifying session, Nico Menzel in the #4 Falken Porsche drove a perfect lap and secured pole position with a time of 8:10.838 minutes. Klaus Bachler put the second #3 Falken Porsche in fifth place on the grid after being slowed down by a yellow flag phase on the Nordschleife. However, Sven Müller proved right at the start of the race that this had not been a disadvantage: by the time he turned onto the Nordschleife, the starting driver in the #3 car had already fought his way up to third position.

Dennis Marschall in the #4 Falken Porsche had taken the lead before that, which his teammate Nico Menzel was initially able to defend after the first pit stop. However, the experienced Nordschleife specialist was put under pressure by Klaus Bachler, resulting in an intense but always fair battle between the two Falken Porsches at the front. The decisive moment in the duel for victory came after the second pit stop: Sven Müller overtook Dennis Marschall and continuously extended his lead in the following laps.

Although the positions at the front changed again temporarily after the third stop due to the mandatory pit stops, Bachler regained the lead after the final pit stop and crossed the finish line safely after four and a half hours with a lead of around five seconds over the second Falken Porsche. Bachler and Müller thus secured overall victory ahead of Menzel and Marschall, also securing the team's second double victory this year. An impressive demonstration of the performance capabilities of Falken tires.

In four weeks' time, the next highlight for motorsport fans is already on the agenda with the “NLS Doubleheader.” On Saturday, September 13, the 65th ADAC ACAS Cup will be held, followed by the 64th ADAC Reinoldus Endurance Race on Sunday, September 14.
