"Highly recommended" for the FALKEN AZENIS FK510 from ACE LENKRAD magazine
The independent testers at ACE LENKRAD magazine have awarded the FALKEN AZENIS FK510 the rating "highly recommended" in this year's summer tyre test.
As the first ever European tyre brand to do so, we have been nominated with our film for the “International Motor Film Awards 2020” which are going to be presented at the end of November in London. From Hollywood blockbusters such as “Le Mans 66” with Matt Damon and Christian Bale and the successful Netflix show “Tyler Rake: Extraction” with Chris Hemsworth, through to big Superbowl TV commercials from leading car manufacturers, short films and independent productions: the International Motor Film Awards honour outstanding directorial and production work in the automotive sector and in motor racing. The Awards are supported by experts from the automotive industry and leading names from the film and TV industry.
Falken has been nominated in the “Best Documentary Feature” category with its film “20 Years in 20 Stories”. The film was made to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the tyres brand at the Nürburgring. With this in mind, under the leadership of director Tobias Kahler, the Falken film crew have created something very special: a total of 20 people were put in front of the camera before, during and after the 2019 24-hour race to tell their stories about the 24-hour race and the Nürburgring. The result is countless emotional, moving and exciting stories surrounding the most legendary race in the world. The 45-minute film has rapidly chalked up more than 200,000 views on YouTube alone, and has been welcomed by the fans of Falken with considerable enthusiasm.
The film “20 Years in 20 Stories” has been nominated in one of the biggest and most important categories and is also competing with major Netflix productions, a documentary by Porsche on the 24 Hours of Le Mans race, and a biographical film about the Formula 1 legend Sir Jack Brabham.
The jury of 24 people is also packed with big names: it includes Bill Holshevnikoff, camera man und Emmy winner, Vic Armstrong, Oscar winner and stunt coordinator for several James Bond films, and Ben Collins from Top Gear, also known as “the stig”.
“We have always put a lot of work into our films on the 24-hour race. Our productions get better every year and the expectations of our fans have also increased,” enthuses Dennis Wilstermann, Supervisor Marketing at Falken Tyre Europe GmbH, discussing the nomination. “We have now been working with Tobias Kahler's team for ten years, and have been making productions of excellent quality throughout that time. I am very proud that we have been nominated for this highly acclaimed award, and I am very happy for Tobias as well.”
Tobias Kahler, owner and film director at motionctrl Film Production is also pleased about the nomination: “Our work with Falken has always been creative and constructive, and the Falken team is always open to new ideas. Falken is a relatively new brand of tyres in Europe, which gives us the opportunity to experiment with new approaches and try out alternative content.”
