The summer break is over: Falken Motorsports returns to the Green Hell for the 12h race, the season highlight of the Nürburgring Endurance Series, and aims to repeat on its overall victory from the last race. The two Porsche 911 GT3 R cars will tackle the first race on Saturday, in which the checkered flag does not fall until nightfall. In addition, the fans can look forward to seeing the actors of the Falken Drift Show.
Falken Motorsports is relying on proven driver line-ups for this year's 12-hour race: The #3 Porsche 911 GT3 R will be piloted by Klaus Bachler and David Pittard. The Austrian returns to the Falken cockpit for the first time since the 24h race in May. Team mate Pittard is still in a winning mood: After the triumph at the 24h race, at that time in the Ferrari 296 GT3 of Frikadelli Racing, the Briton was also allowed to cheer at his Falken debut in July. Together with Joel Eriksson, Pittard won the ROWE 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal race.
Pittard wants to build on this, but competition is coming from within his own ranks: The sister car with starting number #4 also has a strong line-up. Dennis Fetzer and Martin Ragginger share the cockpit of the second Porsche 911 GT3 R. Before the summer break, the duo finished second, but a disqualification due to a breach of rules ruined the good result. Now Fetzer and Ragginger want to prove that their strong performance was no exception.
Although the two Porsche 911 GT3 R cars will only race on Saturday's 63rd ADAC ACAS Cup, it is also worth a visit for all Falken fans on Sunday: in the paddock, the professionals of the Falken Drift Show will demonstrating once again their driving skills. In return for a small donation in aid of the "Sportwartefest" on September 23, 2023, fans will have the opportunity to climb into the passenger seat of a drift racer.
In addition to Remmo Niezen, who will again demonstrate the grip of Falken tires with his BMW E82 1M 2JZ, Rohan van Riel (BMW E63 M6) and Mark Vissers (BMW E39 M5 Drifttaxi) will also be present. For the first time in many years, a former Falken team member, Lars Verbraeken, will return: the Dutchman will let his Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 dance across the asphalt.
Before the start of Sunday's race, the Falken Drift Show will take place in the AMG Arena from 11:10 am. In addition, fans will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the Falken pros and take photos at an autograph session at the RPR1 Livemobile in the ring°boulevard.
