Falken donates 5 x 1,000 euros to local initiatives in Offenbach
Falken Tyre Europe GmbH traditionally places considerable emphasis on social responsibility and diversity at the local level. In this context, as in previous years, Falken is once again supporting good causes in its local region and making five 1,000 euros donations to five charities in Offenbach. This time, the donations are going to the Tafel Offenbach e.V. (food bank), the Tierschutzverein Offenbach (animal welfare charity), the Kinder- und Jugendfarm OF e.V. (charity farm for children and young people), the Frauen helfen Frauen e.V. (women helping women charity), and the Hessische Gesellschaft für Ornithologie und Naturschutz e.V. (charity for bird and nature conservation).
“We are a company that has been rooted in this area for a long time, and we want to give something back to our local region,” said Markus Bögner, Managing Director and President of Falken Tyre Europe GmbH on the occasion of the donation. This year, Falken is celebrating its 40th anniversary. The offices of Falken have been based in the Offenbach City Tower for almost 15 years, and the Falken logo has adorned the building since 2019. “We strongly believe in supporting charitable associations and organisations at our principal location in Offenbach,” continued Bögner.
The Tafel Offenbach e.V. food bank intends to spend its donation on supporting upcoming projects such as the Easter and senior citizens’ festivals, and to buy diesel for its vehicle fleet. Increasing food and veterinary costs are examples of what the Tierschutzverein Offenbach animal welfare charity will be spending its financial support on.
“The donation will help us to continue to offer a wide-ranging educational programme for children and young people,” enthused Jürgen Schomburg of the Kinder- und Jugendfarm OF e.V. charity farm for children and young people. The farm premises, which are looked after by trained experts, include a large adventure playground which focuses on play and exercise in a near-natural environment. Laura Dinger from the Frauen helfen Frauen e.V. women helping women charity also emphasised: “To maintain and fund our shelter for women and children, we consistently depend on donations to support our work. We are very thankful for the donation.”
The Hessische Gesellschaft für Ornithologie und Naturschutz e.V. (HGON) charity for bird and nature conservation will be spending the donation on various nature and species conservation projects in Hesse for the preservation of habitats and to monitor the populations of endangered species.
