The Falken EUROWINTER HS01: Rated "Good" in the AUTO BILD Sportcars winter tyre test

"Convincing driving characteristics on snowy and wet slopes; quiet rolling noise" are strengths that the independent testers of AUTO BILD Sportcars magazine attested to the Falken EUROWINTER HS01 in its recent winter tyre test in issue 11/2020. The Falken tyre was awarded the rating "Good" and came sixth overall. Twelve winter tyres in fitment 225/40R18 were tested on a Volkswagen Golf GTI.

The Falken EUROWINTER HS01 was the highest-scoring tyre in the categories that are crucial for safe winter driving. With an average speed of 52.8 km/h, the Falken tyre leads the snow handling category: the testers describe the Falken EUROWINTER HS01 as delivering "stable lateral guidance, decent traction and good grip when braking". The tyre’s steering behaviour is also important on snow-covered surfaces. Here, the Falken EUROWINTER HS01 secured first place with 4.86 m/s2 and the testers praised the tyre for reliably following the steering commands of the Volkswagen Golf GTI in cornering. Only 50 cm of braking distance separate the Falken tyre from the winner in the category "Braking distances on slippery roads", with the EUROWINTER HS01 earning third place in this category.

"We are very happy about this positive result. It shows that the Falken EUROWINTER HS01 is particularly capable of taking on the demanding challenges of the winter and bringing the riders safely to their destination," says Andreas Giese, Senior Manager Corporate Planning and Product Planning at Falken Tyre Europe GmbH, who is delighted with the result.

The test-proven Falken winter model, the EUROWINTER HS01, is available in 115 fitments and is therefore the ideal option for most drivers. It has been on the market since 2016 and continues to impress with excellent snow, ice and wet grip, first-class aquaplaning performance, and a high degree of driving stability. The Falken EUROWINTER HS01 is available in sizes from 13 to 21 inches, series 35 to 70, and for speeds of 190 to 270 km/h (speed index T/H/V/W).
