Great success for Falken Motorsports: Victory at the Nürburgring Endurance Series 6h-race

Superior victory for Falken Motorsports at the season highlight of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS): Joel Eriksson and Sven Müller celebrate their premiere victory with the #3 Porsche 911 GT3 R. Tim Heinemann and Alessio Picariello with the #4 round off the success with a seventh place.

The base for the success of both Porsche 911 GT3 R was a good qualifying for the 6h-race. Joel Eriksson, who drove his first ever Nordschleife race with a GT3, and Sven Müller (#3) secured eighth place on the grid with a lap time of 7:54.334 minutes. Close behind followed Falken debutant Tim Heinemann and Alessio Picariello (#4), who needed 7:54.812 minutes to lap the 24.358 kilometer combination of Nürburgring sprint track and Nordschleife.

The 6h-race got off to a turbulent start and thrilled the numerous fans around the "Green Hell". The Falken duo fought their way forward place by place, after 45 minutes Heinemann / Picariello (#4) led for the first time ahead of Eriksson / Müller (#3).

As the race progressed, the #4 had to serve a stop-and-go penalty due to a rule violation during the starting grid, while at the same time the #3 steadily extended its lead thanks to the outstanding performance of the Falken tires.

After six hours of racing, Joel Eriksson and Sven Müller distanced the competition by an impressive 1:14.562 minutes, giving Falken Motorsports its long-awaited victory - its first since 2018 and fourth overall in the NLS.

Falken Motorsports' next race will be at the 12 Hours of Nürburgring on September 9-11, 2022, another highlight of the Nürburgring Endurance Series season.
