Falken’s parent company, Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI) has begun proof of concept testing for its new tyre pressure management solution that enables the remote monitoring of tyre pressures and temperatures, which will be crucial for the safe operation of autonomous vehicles.
"Convincing driving characteristics on snowy and wet slopes; quiet rolling noise" are strengths that the independent testers of AUTO BILD Sportcars magazine attested to the Falken EUROWINTER HS01 in its recent winter tyre test in issue 11/2020.
In the major all-season tyre test by AUTO BILD magazine, the Falken EUROALL SEASON AS210 was awarded the accolade of “exemplary”, coming in at fifth place in a total of 32 tested tyres, thereby securing its place among the top ten all-season tyres in the 205/55R16 size.
Once again Falken has proven the reliability of its performance tires and finished the toughest endurance race under the most difficult conditions: 10th and 11th place at the 48th ADAC TOTAL 24h-Race 2020 at Nürburgring.

Having been awarded the accolade of recommended product in the latest tyre test by the Austrian Automobile, Motorcycle and Touring Club (ÖAMTC, in cooperation with ADAC and STC), the current Falken EUROWINTER HS01 is one of the most solid winter tyres for passenger cars. This result also puts it ahead of some of the leading products. In a test field with a total of 15 candidates in the wide-ranging 205/55 R16H format for compact cars and vehicles in the lower mid-range category, the Falcon EUROWINTER HS01 achieved sixth place.
For the tenth time in succession, Falken is launching its “Falken says tanks” sales promotion campaign in Germany and Austria as well as other core European markets of the tyres brand. From 15th September until 30th November 2020, customers in participating stores will receive a prepaid card for refuelling and shopping if they buy Falken winter- or all-season tyres.
Some 25 of the world’s best athletes from ten nations are all set to meet at the big Audi Nines Mountain Bike Event, which is taking place from 7th until 12th September 2020 at the Ellweiler Quarry, Birkenfeld in the Hunsrück region of Germany.

For the fourth time in a row, a Falken summer tyre has achieved the title “exemplary” in the big Auto BILD Summer Tyres Test. This year, the Falken premium model in the ultra-high performance segment, AZENIS FK510, again achieved a place among the top ten of the summer tyres tested, finishing in seventh.
Instead of Christmas presents for customers, Falken decided last year to support an Offenbach-based non-profit organisation with a donation. Tyre brand Falken has confirmed its 2020 motorsport plans, announcing it will run a pair of the latest specification GT3 Porsche 911 GT3 R in both the Nürburgring Endurance Series (formerly known as the VLN) and the Nürburgring 24h race. Falken Motorsports race team, run by Schnabl Engineering for the tenth consecutive year, has ordered a new 991.2 chassis to run alongside its 2019 Porsche. Both cars will be identical in specification.
The test track that Sumitomo Rubber Europe GmbH (SREU) put into operation in Arnemark, northern Sweden, in December comprises two groomed snow areas, each approx. 15,000 m2, about three times the size of a football pitch, two snow handling courses, each 1,600 metres long, and a 600 metre long ice handling track.
Falken’s parent company, Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd (SRI), has developed new technology that utilises artificial intelligence (AI) to predict the properties of rubber and detects how structural changes, due to load and wear, will affect performance throughout a tyre’s lifecycle. The data collected through “Tyre Leap AI Analysis” will support engineers to create longer lasting tyres with more consistent performance over time and is a key element of SRI’s “SMART TYRE CONCEPT”.
Sven Müller’s and Patrick Pilet’s joy in their hard-won second place at the VLN Endurance Championship at the Nürburgring was to be short-lived, after a misdemeanour in a “Code 60 Zone” triggered a subsequent time penalty for Falken, relegating them from second to seventh place.
Falken rounded off the 2019 jubilee season with sixth place for Klaus Bachler and Martin Ragginger in the #4 Porsche 911 GT3 R, and tenth place for Peter Dumbreck, Alexandre Imperatori and Sheldon van der Linde in the #3 BMW M6 GT3.
Falken again delivered a great performance, scooping up fourth place for the BMW M6 GT3 and sixth place for the Porsche 911 GT3 at the seventh round of the VLN Endurance Championship at the Nürburgring.
