We are expanding our presence in virtual motorsport

May 2nd, 2023 - Nürburgring, Watkins Glen, Spa, Le Mans or Fuji? Get ready for a virtual journey to some of the most spectacular circuits in the world with our new Esports activation. Falken will partner with Dörr Esports and create an official Falken Esports team. We kick off our campaign with the "24h of Nürburgring" - a highly anticipated event on iRacing’s Special Events calendar that takes place one week before the ‘real’ 24-hour race. This event is known for its intense competition and demanding track conditions, challenging drivers to showcase their skills and endurance over the course of the grueling race. Our team is excited to be participating in this event, with three highly skilled drivers - Damon Woods, Michael Rächl, and Jan Ternjak behind the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 R. Each driver brings their own unique strengths and experience to the team, making for a formidable combination that is sure to impress on the track. We are confident that our team will perform at their best and leave their mark on this thrilling event.

After a second year of competing in iRacing events, it was a logical step to set up our own team. With Dörr Esports, we have the right partner for us to progress in this exciting discipline of motorsport,” says Dennis Wilstermann, Assistant Manager Marketing at Falken Tyre Europe GmbH. “This partnership will build Falken’s reputation as a leading motorsport brand, whilst reaching and engaging with a new audience in the passionate sim racing community.”

Leonard Krippner,Team Kapitän Dörr Esports, explains: „As a driver and as a team captain it's an incredible honor and privilege to enter a partnership with Falken Motorsports. It is great to see another prestigious brand from the real world showing serious interest in our shared passion, sim racing, pushing further to achieve great things in the world of esports. As a member of Dörr Esports, it shows that the hard work and great results of the past two years pay off step by step. These factors have put us in a position to compete at the top level, enabling us to do the best we can to place the Falken name on top of the timing sheets.I can't wait for our team to represent the iconic blue and green colours on the virtual race track. Let's make it a good one!“

Christian Baur, Team Manager Dörr Esports, pointed out: “From my point of view, what has to come together comes together. Falken Tyres has always been an innovative brand that has conquered new fields. Starting with the Falken Drift Team, to its own motorsport team for the NLS and the 24h race at the Nürburgring. The fact that Falken is now also entering virtual motorsport with its own sim racing team is a logical and correct step for me. The fact that Falken has decided to cooperate with Dörr Esports is of course a great pleasure for us. And we will do everything we can to ensure that Falken can continue its success story in motor sports on the digital race tracks from now on.”
