Falken Motorsports celebrates a podium finish at the season opener at the Nürburgring

Falken Motorsports has made an impressive start to the new motorsports season: At the 58th ADAC Barbarossa Prize - which was originally scheduled to be the second round of the ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) but now served as the season opener following last weekend’s cancellation - Sven Müller and Tim Heinemann secured third place overall in the No. 44 Porsche 911 GT3 R. The team is thus seamlessly building on the strong performances of last season.

Qualifying already indicated that a strong overall result was possible in the first race of the year: Although the duo didn’t manage a perfect lap, Sven Müller and Tim Heinemann qualified the teal-and-blue Falken Porsche with start number 44 in a promising tenth starting position. The full potential of the Falken racing tires was also utilized during the race: Starting driver Sven Müller engaged in an intense battle with the competition as early as the first lap.

As the race progressed, the duo steadily worked their way forward and had established themselves in the top 5 by the halfway point. In the final stages, Tim Heinemann once again made a decisive impact with some impressive overtaking maneuvers: In the final lap of the race, the German was even within striking distance of second place, which he ultimately missed by about a second. Nevertheless, Heinemann and Müller were able to climb onto the podium right at the start of the new season.

For the Falken customer team Max Kruse Racing, the first race of the new season was also a promising start: Jan Jaap van Roon, Tom Coronel, and Rudy van Buuren finished 23rd overall in the Audi R8 LMS GT3, which runs on alternative fuel, while the sister car driven by Dominik and Marcel Fugel along with Benjamin Leuchter finished 30th in the overall standings. Only the two VW Golf GTI TCRs had to retire early.

Falken Motorsports continues its preparations for the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring (May 14–17): In three weeks, the 57th Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy (April 11) will mark the third round of the ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS).
