Falken donates almost 6,000 euros to local institutions

This year Falken Tyre Europe GmbH is continuing its commitment to local institutions in Offenbach and is donating almost 6,000 euros in total. The donations will benefit four important initiatives that are actively involved in the areas of sport, social affairs and education and make an invaluable contribution to the community in the city of Offenbach.

Falken is supporting the Malteser Children’s Hospice with a donation of 1,000 euros. The work by the hospice provides seriously ill children and parents with support and hope in difficult times. The Offenbach-based company knows that the children are dependent on the partly voluntary support and that any other aid helps provide further opportunities.

A second project, which also deals with people in need, will receive funding of the same amount of 1,000 euros. The Women’s Shelter Organisation (Frauen helfen Frauen e.V.) offers protection and accommodation for women and children suffering from domestic violence.

As appropriate for a Japanese company, Falken wants to support the Japanese-inspired sports club, the 1. JC Samurai Offenbach, with a donation of 2,000 euros. A successful collaboration took place last year as part of series of workshops on “Stopping violence against women”. During the internal “Orange Day” campaign, the company organised a self-defence course together with the club, which taught important values such as respect, discipline and solidarity through judo. Falken would like to acknowledge the valuable work by the club and express its thanks for the excellent partnership with this financial support.

In the field of education, Falken is setting an example once again by getting involved as a sponsor of the German scholarship programme to support a talented student during their education at Offenbach University of Art and Design. This sponsorship programme, which is funded by a partnership between the state and private backers, not only offers financial support, but also strengthens the future of creative minds.

“With this donation of almost 6,000 euros, we want to support institutions that make an invaluable and indispensable contribution to the quality of life in various areas in Offenbach. We want to express a token of our gratitude and appreciation and promote outstanding work with this support,” says Markus Bögner, Managing Director, President & CSO of Falken Tyre Europe GmbH, on the occasion of the donation presentation.
