Falken finishes short edition of the 24h race Nürburgring in 6th and 11th place

The 52nd edition of the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring will go down as the shortest in history. The race was interrupted on Saturday evening due to heavy fog and there was no regular start on Sunday. The two Falken Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) finished sixth and eleventh.

The omens for a successful weekend, which was attended by 240,000 fans, were good for Falken Motorsports. After three victories in the preparatory races of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) and the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifier, the teal-and-blue Porsche was considered one of the favorites for overall victory.

The high expectations were confirmed in top qualifying: Klaus Bachler, Julien Andlauer, Sven Müller and Alessio Picariello qualified tenth on the grid with the #33, while Nico Menzel, Joel Eriksson, Tim Heinemann and Martin Ragginger started in 14th position with the #44.

The race started at 4 pm on Saturday under difficult weather conditions. Shortly before the start of the formation lap, rain set in at various points on the track, making the choice of tires a lottery. The Falken engineers made the right decision and chose the best tires for both cars. Both teams subsequently shone with good performance and after nightfall were classified in eighth and ninth place.

As the race progressed, fog increasingly impeded the drivers' visibility, causing race control to red flag the race at 11:23 pm. The restart took place on Sunday at 1:30 pm for safety reasons behind a leading car and under an overtaking ban. However, as the weather conditions did not improve, the race was finally stopped after five laps - for the first time before the end of the 24 hours.

Klaus Bachler, Julien Andlauer, Sven Müller and Alessio Picariello finished sixth with the #33, while Nico Menzel, Joel Eriksson, Tim Heinemann and Martin Ragginger took eleventh place with the #44.

The next ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring will take place from June 19 to 22, 2025.
