First tyre with CORESEAL technology is the FALKEN EUROALL SEASON AS210

Falken’s first tyre to feature an integrated tyre sealant technology that immediately seals punctures and minimises the risk of a flat tyre is to go on sale next month. Initially available on two sizes of Falken’s all-season EUROALL SEASON AS210 pattern, CORESEAL prevents air pressure loss due to punctures by automatically sealing any punctures up to five millimetres in the tread surface, offering convenience, cost and safety to drivers.

Falken’s proprietary CORESEAL technology features a layer of highly adhesive, yet viscous sealant on the inner lining of the tyre. If the tyre is punctured, the sealant automatically flows into the hole and thus prevents further loss of air pressure. Coreseal avoids the hassle and safety issues of experiencing a puncture

“CORESEAL is a simple solution to a disruptive problem,” says Andreas Giese, Senior Manager Corporate Planning/Product Planning at Falken Tyre Europe “Now you no longer have to change a tyre or wait for roadside assistance, you can simply continue your journey. CORESEAL is a significant step in making tyres smarter and more efficient.”

On sale in Germany from July 2021, Falken will initially offer 235/55R18 104V XL and follow with the 225/50R17 98V XL later of its all-season EUROALL SEASON AS210 in sequence.

Falken recommends the use of a tyre pressure monitoring system with its CORESEAL tyres and suggests any puncture should be checked by a tyre professional.

The Sumitomo Rubber Group is actively engaged in the development and promotion of “spareless” technologies that eliminate the need for spare tyres. In addition to CORESEAL, we have already released various FEXM (Falken Extended Mobility Technology) tyres featuring our proprietary and are now also advancing the development of GYROBLADE “airless tyre” technology, which will eliminate the need for compressed air entirely. Because these technologies eliminate the need for spare tyres, they not only contribute to resource savings, but also reduce vehicle loads for improved fuel efficiency.
