Falken AZENIS FK520 rated “good” in the ADAC summer tyre test

As a customer, what should you expect from a summer tyre, and what should you pay particular attention to? The ADAC explored this question in their summer tyre test, evaluating a total of 18 summer tyres in size 225/40 R18. The Falken AZENIS FK520 represented Falken and achieved an overall rating of 2.4.

The ADAC testers highlighted the tyre's excellent driving safety on both wet and dry roads. The Falken AZENIS FK520 delivers solid performance on dry roads, with short braking distances and high stability during sudden evasive maneuvers. Despite a slight sensitivity to temperature increases, the tyre remains safe and stable due to its higher grip level at the limit. On wet roads, the AZENIS FK520 stands out with short braking distances and reliable aquaplaning resistance. The test showed that at a speed of 80 km/h on a wet road, the braking distance was 30.5 meters.

The Falken AZENIS FK520 also impresses with its good mileage and low abrasion, as well as its efficiency. With low fuel consumption, the tyre earns a good rating. Notably, the mileage of 46,700 km places the Falken AZENIS FK520 fifth among the tyres tested in the abrasion test.

Falken's engineers placed great emphasis on the tyre's environmental balance during development. The low fuel consumption plays a crucial role here, enabling the Falken AZENIS FK520 to compete successfully with its market rivals. Overall, the tyre proves to be an environmentally friendly and efficient choice for demanding drivers.

The overall verdict for Falken's summer tyre is clear: "good." By choosing the Falken AZENIS FK520, customers make a safe and reliable choice for their vehicle.
