As is the case every year, readers await the results of the AUTO BILD tyre test with great anticipation. The AUTO BILD magazine has once again this year taken a close look at various tyres in differing dimensions and models, revealing which tyre actually delivers on its promises. The latest summer tyre test looked at more than 50 summer tyres in the dimension 225/40 R18, including the Falken ZIEX ZE320.
Before the performance of the participating brand tyres was determined, the tyres were first required to show their mettle in a brake test. After a qualifying stage, just 20 of over 50 tyres made it through to the next round and were thus able to qualify for the further tests. Among these was the Falken summer tyre, which succeeded in impressing with an excellent performance and therefore made it to the final test.
In which disciplines does the Falken ZIEX ZE320 actually keep its promises? Especially in the categories of driving dynamics and short braking distances on wet and dry roads, the Falken tyre delivered outstanding performance. In terms of wet handling, the Falken ZIEX ZE320 proved to be the best of all the tested tyres, leaving the others in its dust.
This year’s offering of good quality summer tyres is surprisingly large. This makes it all the more important for consumers to compare which tyre fits with their vehicle, what the price-performance ratio is like and which specific requirements, in their view, make for a safe tyre. That’s why the journalists of this specialist magazine also looked into the issue of rolling noise, which lives up to its promise with a good result.
Despite its slightly limited mileage, the Falken summer tyre clearly stands out in terms of cost and therefore secured one of the top spots among the competition in the premium segment.
The conclusion of the expert testers was a comfortable rating of “good”. Above all else, the strengths are its outstanding driving dynamics, short braking distances on wet and dry surfaces and low rolling noise.
The Falken ZIEX ZE320 scored 2.1 and came in at seventh place. This makes our Falken an excellent choice for those in the market for a summer tyre.

After finishing second overall the day before, FALKEN Motorsports moved up one more position: On Sunday, Tim Heinemann and Morris Schuring won the 66th ADAC ACAS Cup, the ninth round of the 2026 ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS). The duo had already secured pole position that morning in their teal-and-blue No. 44 Porsche 911 GT3 R and then left nothing to chance in the four-hour race. Adverse weather conditions, including heavy rain at times, created extremely difficult conditions and led to numerous accidents on the legendary Nordschleife.
