“Why we race” nominated for the International Motor Film Award

The Falken-produced film “Why we race”, released in July 2024, is on the nomination list of the coveted International Motor Film Award. The almost three-minute clip managed to secure a place on the shortlist for the award in the category “Best Event Film”.

Falken’s films are already a mainstay on the nomination and winner lists of the International Motor Film Awards. This is the fifth year in which a film by Falken has been nominated. Falken has been fortunate enough to take home the coveted trophy twice. “Whatever comes your way” (2021) and “A Monument to the Art of Racing” (2023) have been awarded the coveted award in the category “Best Event Film”.

This year's film “Why We Race” shows why Falken risk so much to win. It explores the question of what attracts Falken to the Nürburgring year after year, always in the hope of setting another milestone in motorsports history. The result is a 2.5-minute clip that, in addition to interesting information, also conveys a great deal of emotion and thus truly reflects different facets of the fascination for the legendary Nürburgring. The clip was released on Falken’s social media channels, where it has already achieved almost three million clicks shortly after its release.

The International Motor Film Awards honour outstanding achievements in directing and production in the automotive and motorsport sectors. The Awards are supported by experts from the automotive industry and prominent personalities from the film and television industry. The prestigious awards ceremony and the unveiling of the winners will take place in London in October.

Dennis Wilstermann, Assistant Manager Marketing at Falken Tyre Europe GmbH, emphasises the importance of participating in such high-profile events: “The nomination for the International Motor Film Awards is a special honour for us. Being recognised for our efforts in such a prestigious event from among such strong competition shows that we can stand our ground with our passion and dedication in a high-profile, demanding environment.”
